Where to start?

This week I've been a bad blogger!!  I really hate it when I fall behind because I miss writing about all the little things the kids do!  When I get behind and do a catch up post it's just not the same.......oh well, can't beat myself up about it!  Let me just recap the week then post about today!

The first part of the week Nana came to visit!  We had lots of fun!  Monday we ventured out to Shapes and More for awhile.  Nana bought Luke a few puzzles, plus a few educational things....I just love that store.  I could so get carried away buying things in there.  We also got Luke two posters, one of the ten commandments and one all about learning to count money.  I know he's young but he thinks learning new things is fun so I might as well take the opportunity to teach him!  He surprises me everyday with the stuff he comes up with!  We also got to eat at Izzo's downtown for lunch....yummy cheeseburger!

Tuesday we hung around the house a little more.....Luke had to take Nana down to the pond, then we all went to the library to turn in Luke and Caroline's summer reading list.  They both got little certificates for reading their 20 books! 

Wednesday Nana had to go back home but the fun didn't stop for Luke!  Mimi and Pop Pop took Grace, Luke and Claire to Chuck E Cheese!  They had a great time and it was nice to just have Caroline at home with us, she doesn't get as much one on one time as Luke got from us....typical second child right?  We took a little trip to Lowes....I've had a project in mind so we had to buy all the stuff!  We also worked on rearranging our room a little.  We took the TV back out of our room and set up two chairs for us to sit and read in at night....I know we're lame.

Thursday night Mimi and Pop Pop kept both kids for us!  We had a little something to do, then Eugene took me for a little "driving a stick shift" refresher course....I passed with flying colors, it really is like riding a bike, I just wanted to brush up a little.  Then we had a nice dinner for two at McDonalds!  Yes, we are like the last two people on earth that still like to eat there!  I love the fact that we can really be doing anything together and still have fun!

Today the kids and I just hung around the house all day, except for a few quick errands, then Danny, Jenn and the girls came out for supper and a little exursion to a sunflower field!  The kids got to visit with their friend Whitt....they picked some corn....saw grapes growing and had a big time!  Here are a few pics

Hey!

I couldn't think of a title for this blog so "hey!" will have to suffice!  I've got to write about our weekend in Savannah!  Plus I have a few more pictures to share from our trip!  Our car ride to Savannah went rather smoothly with 4 kids.  They all actually slept for a good two hours!   Friday night we stayed with my Grandma Thunderbolt, then Saturday morning we went to see Grandma Hatchell, and took her to lunch at our family's favorite restaurant, Carey Hilliard's....actually the food isn't that great anymore....I guess we just go because we've always gone....strange in life how we continue to do things out of habit or the memory of the way things used to be?.....anyway that's a wholenother....yes, I said "whole" "nother" can of worms! 

To me one of the best parts of the weekend was going out to "the cemetery", of course there are several cemeteries in Savannah but there aren't many cemeteries quite like Bonaventure Cemetery.  If you've ever read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil then you know about this place.  It's beautiful, gorgeous old oak trees, ornate headstones....did I mention it's also on the water? .....and it's where my two grandfathers are buried.  My dad and I, Luke, Caroline and Grandma Hatchell all went out there Saturday.  I have countless memories of visiting there throughout the years....I guess cemetery's are usually creepy but this place isn't to me.  My dad's family has a section of plots right next to the water....it's just so peaceful and beautiful.  Anyway....it's just a special place to me, just another reason to love Savannah.

Savannah trip continued....

I have to give a shout out to Grandma Hatchell!  She turned 84 Friday and is in great health!  I'm going to print this picture and send it to her....she likes pictures of herself, plus this one is taken at the cemetery...which is a special place for her as well....she loves to come and sit on the bench next to Granddad's grave.

Savannah Part 3...

On the way home to Thomasville Saturday afternoon we stopped at Banks Lake to stretch our legs....I took several pictures...

Quick trip!

Me and the kids are back from Savannah!  We got back this evening, a quick trip, we were just gone a little over 24 hours.  We had a nice time!  I'm so happy Pop Pop decided to go with us, it made it much easier having someone to help handle 4 kids!  I'll post more later about the trip, I just wanted to post this pic of Caroline and Pop Pop! 

Time with silly girls!

What a fun night!  It started this afternoon with me and Tori making homemade pizza for supper.  I think she really enjoyed it, we had flour all over us from rolling out the dough!  I let her put all the toppings on it....when I handed her the pepperoni, she kind of looked at it, then she said she'd never seen uncooked pepperoni....I explained to her that it was actually already cooked and you could eat it.  I ate one to show her it was okay, then she ate a couple....she got the biggest kick out of that! 

Tonight all of us went to skate night for VBS.  Of course Eugene showed us all up on his "blades".....and we learned from the youth that you don't call skates with two sets of wheels "roller skates" anymore, you call them "quads"!  Eugene even took Caroline for a spin around the rink....until he was called out over the speakers!  She liked it for the few times she went around though!  Tori and Lauren did really good skating....of course Luke wouldn't come near skates!  I would have skated but I figured with all the kids I'd just watch!

After we got home tonight my kids went onto sleep and I enjoyed time with Tori and Lauren.  I let them take a bath in our big tub, they love the jets!  Then I showed them some pictures I took of them today and they picked out which ones they wanted me to put on the blog....this is what we came up with!  We also played a little morphing them in photoshop, they thought that was super funny!  I can't believe they have such a short time left with us!  Only one more night!  They will be missed!

Rest time

Ah...rest time....such a nice peaceful part of the day.  Tori and Lauren are watching TV, Luke's napping and my little girl is sitting here next to me playing on the floor!  Caroline does not like to sleep much, I think she's afraid she'll miss something!  Luke on the other hand needs his sleep or he's a complete monster!  He's been taking naps great since I stopped working.  I just tell him it's time to go to sleep and he crawls up on his bed!  I like nap time because it's when everything is all quiet and I can get some things done around the house!

I thought I'd take the time now to post a video clip from last week.  It's of Luke explaining his chore chart.  He is still doing a great job with it.  Tori and Lauren have been helping him this week, they have even been asking to do chores around the house!  The only thing about this video is he isn't saying yes ma'am to me.....that's a rule in our house, he's not suppose to be saying "yea".....that's something we have to work on around here alot!

It's only Tuesday?

It seems like it should be closer to Friday already!  We've been so busy!  Let's see...I need to back track to Sunday....which was Father's Day!  Yeah!  Sunday morning when Eugene woke up he had a card next to his sink waiting for him.  It was a good sweet mushy one from me and the kids!  While Eugene was in the shower Luke and I quickly popped some Cinnamon rolls out of a can and baked them in the oven for him!  We all ate a nice breakfast then headed off to church.  After church we went to Danny and Jenn's for lunch.  They had a yummy meal for us, then I had to run to church to finish setting up for Bible school.  Sunday evening Tori and Lauren came to town for the week.  We all went to church Sunday night then I took the kids by Walmart to buy groceries for the week..... I now understand why moms don't like to go to the grocery store with their kids!  They wanted everything!  We came out of there with ice cream cones, oreos, Capri suns, I just couldn't say no!  Then it was bath then bed time for four kids! 

Yesterday we all got up and went to bible school, Luke's been so excited about going, he talked about it all last week.....well we got there, I dropped a screaming Caroline off in the nursery, then dropped a crying, shaking little boy off at his room.  Of course my two kids were the only two on the entire hall crying!  I called Eugene shortly after and he came, picked them up and took them to Mimi's!  The rest of the morning was good, then Lauren, Tori and I picked up Luke and Caroline and headed home after Bible school.  Yesterday afternoon we watched Princess Diaries (too cute!), we played with the slip n slide and went for a walk down to the pond! ....again!  Today I dropped Luke and Caroline off at Mimi's and the rest of us went to bible school.  We all went swimming this afternoon, then came home and had spaghetti night.  Everyone is sleeping now and Eugene's just coming in from Ultimate Frisbee.

We're really enjoying Tori and Lauren, they've been so helpful and sweet!  I've enjoyed getting a Nickelodeon/Disney channel education.  I've decided I like the show Drake and Josh!....and I'm thinking I might DVR the Camp Rock movie coming on Friday....it looks pretty cute.  Tonight we were watching a little of the movie Freaky Friday.  I remember the old Freaky Friday movie with Jodie Foster, I used to love it!

Tomorrow night we're taking the girls skating and I think we're going to make a homemade pizza for supper!  Fun!

Oh man!

I just posted all about our day, but a little glitch in the internet connection and I lost it all!  Oh well, I'll give you an abridge version tomorrow when I feel like writing again!

Can't stay away!
