Confession time......I'm sure many of you have been wondering where I've been this week. I know I've been a terrible blogger, I've also been a pretty crummy wife, mother, friend and family member this week! I have pretty much ignored everyone outside the four walls of our house as much as possible. It's a little embarrassing, but let me explain......
Let me go back to last weekend first. I was at Walmart Friday night buying supplies for Luke's party and decided to pick up the book Twilight. My friend Ursula had said it was great so when I noticed they had it I decided to pick it up. I enjoy reading at night before bedtime, I usually have a few books going at any given time, a devotional type book, a parenting book and maybe another one for pleasure but I'm not usually a freak about reading, it's just something I do to unwind at night. We had a busy holiday weekend. Monday Eugene's parents went back home and me, Eugene and the kids went swimming at my parents house for the day. Monday evening we got home, got the kids down then I decided to pick up Twilight and start reading. I read maybe a 100 pages then decided I needed to go onto bed, well actually, Eugene decided I needed to go to bed because Tuesday I had long day. My grandma from Savannah had been in town over the weekend and I was driving her back to Savannah on Tuesday. I drove her to Savannah, spent maybe 2-3 hours seeing family then drove back to Thomasville. The whole way all I was thinking about was Twilight! I couldn't wait to get started back reading it! Finally after getting home, getting kids to bed, etc...I settled into reading. I was so into it I didn't even notice the time! I read and read til I finished it at 5am! The next day was Wednesday. All I thought about was getting to Walmart to buy the other books in the series, there are 4 books total and I just had to read them all as fast as possible!
It wasn't until later in the evening on Wednesday that we were able to get over that way. Just last week Walmart had all the books but this week they were out of the second one. I almost had a panic attack right there on the book isle! Eugene helped me sift through every single book on the shelf and it wasn't there! I really debated about driving to Tallahassee then I remembered Ursula! She had the books! I called her and she let me whip by and get them, THANK YOU URSULA!!!
I have stayed up late every night this week reading, last night I fell asleep reading around midnight. At 2 am Caroline woke up crying, I gave her a bottle then after I got her to bed I started reading til around 4am....I must be crazy right?! Well I'm happy to say that today I finally finished all four books and even 12 chapters of an unreleased book in the series the author has on her website. In the course of a less than a week I've read around 2,500 pages!!! That is just crazy for me, I've never done that.
I've been so engrossed in the books that I've actually spent more time pondering the story plot than living in reality! Thank goodness I've had Ursula to call and email when I got to pivotal places in the plot, she's been the only person to understand me this week! Eugene has really put up with alot, he's said I just kind of seemed spaced out all week!
I'm happy to report now that I'm back to myself, I know I still haven't posted any pictures but I've got some things to catch up on around here, I've pretty much taken a sabbatical from being a housewife this week so I've got to get back to work, but soon, I promise!
